Planning for Warner Bros.
World Abu Dhabi began in 2007 but was delayed due to the Great Recession.
Construction resumed in 2015 under Miral with Belgian contractor Six Construct.

It held the Guinness World Record for the largest indoor theme park in 2019 until surpassed by a park in China.
