Historia

1990

The Pasir Salak Historical Complex was constructed beginning in 1990 under the initiative of Tan Seri Ramli Ngah Talib, then Menteri Besar of Perak, and officially inaugurated by Raja Nazrin Shah on May 26, 1990.

1875

It was established on the historically significant site where the Perak War started in 1875, following the appointment of the British Resident J.W.W.

Birch, whose disregard for local customs led to conflict.

Over time, the site has been restored and expanded by the Malaysian Department of Museums and Antiquities, adding permanent structures and preserving existing traditional buildings such as the Pasir Salak Mosque and defensive forts.

The complex serves as a memorial to the Malay warriors who fought against British colonial forces.
