Historia
The Multimar Wattforum was established in 1999 as the primary information center for the Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park, which itself was founded in 1985.
The center was expanded in 2003 with the addition of a whale exhibition featuring a large sperm whale model.
Further expansions occurred in 2008, increasing exhibition space and aquarium volume significantly.
In 2023, a new otter house was added in cooperation with the Otterzentrum Hankensbüttel, enhancing the center's focus on species conservation and education.
