Divali Nagar is a prominent annual exposition dedicated to showcasing Hindu culture broadly and Indo-Trinidadian culture specifically. Located in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago, it originated in 1986 in a mall car park before moving to a permanent site on John Peters Road Extension. The event is held in conjunction with Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, beginning a week before the official holiday and culminating with an extensive fireworks display. While it features significant cultural and religious presentations, Divali Nagar also includes commercial activities that help fund the event. Over the years, it has become the most significant Indian cultural event in Trinidad and Tobago and has influenced similar celebrations in the wider Caribbean and North America. Beyond the annual festival, the Divali Nagar site serves as a venue for educational seminars, Indian Arrival Day celebrations, charitable events, religious festivities, wedding receptions, and trade exhibitions featuring religious and cultural merchandise from India.
