History
Köýtendag Nature Reserve was established in 1986 to protect the unique geological formations and biodiversity of the Köýtendag Range.
Initially, it incorporated three sanctuaries-Garlyk, Hojapil, and Hojaburjybelent-all founded in the same year.
Later, in 1999, the Hojagarawul Sanctuary was added to expand the protected area.
