History

2004

Treehotel was established in 2004 by Britta Jonsson-Lindvall and Kent Lindvall, inspired by Britta's earlier guesthouse in the region.

2007

The concept of treetop accommodation developed after Jonas Selberg Augustsén built a treehouse 14 meters above ground in 2007 near Harads, which was later rented out to guests.

2010

The first five architect-designed tree rooms were constructed in 2010, with subsequent additions in 2013, 2016, and 2022, expanding the hotel to eight unique rooms.

Over time, the hotel has grown into a celebrated architectural and eco-tourism landmark, carefully balancing modern design with respect for the natural forest environment.
