History
Zemplén Adventure Park was inaugurated on July 20, 2009, as a modern outdoor leisure complex developed on the hills surrounding Sátoraljaújhely.
It was established to promote tourism and sports in the region, leveraging the natural landscape of Magas-hegy, Szár-hegy, and Várhegy.
Over the years, the park has expanded its offerings, adding unique features such as Hungary's longest seated chairlift and the longest bobsled track in Central and Eastern Europe.
The construction of the "Zemplén723" national unity bridge further enhanced the park's appeal, earning a Guinness World Record.
Today, it is maintained by the local municipal sports center and continues to grow as a key attraction in northeastern Hungary.
Place Guide
Lower Station (Alsó állomás)
The base area featuring the seated chairlift before its renovation, winter-summer bobsled track, ice rink for roller and artificial ice skating, climbing wall center, tourist hostel, and access to the Magas-hegyi nature trail.
Middle Station (Középső állomás)
Mid-mountain area with adventure tour courses of six difficulty levels, ski slopes with ski lifts, snow tubing tracks, playgrounds, and the Magas-hegyi nature trail continuation. Also home to the Homonnay Nándor Ski Museum.
Mountain Summit (Hegytető)
The highest point of the park featuring a lookout tower, a zipline called "Sólyom" (Falcon), and a cable car named "Dongó" (Bumblebee).
Szár-hegy Area
Area with the lower station of a cable car, zipline endpoint, the historic Hungarian Calvary memorial site, the Centenary Turul monument, the ongoing construction of the Trianon Centenary memorial, the 100th National Flag memorial, Saint Stephen's Chapel, a resting park with a viewpoint, and the first endpoint of the National Unity Bridge. It also includes the Szár-hegy chairlift.
Várhegy Area
Site of the excavation and visitor center of the Sátoraljaújhely castle, and the second endpoint of the National Unity Bridge (currently under construction).
