Vihula Manor is a distinguished historic estate located in Lääne-Viru County, northern Estonia. First mentioned in 1501, it belonged to the Lodede noble family and later to the Helffreich and Schubert families, who shaped its development over centuries. The manor's baroque-style main building was constructed in the early 18th century and remodeled in the 1880s by architect Friedrich Modi. The complex includes over 20 buildings from various periods, such as the coach house, granary, palm house, and windmill, arranged around a picturesque pond. The manor park spans nearly 28 hectares with naturalistic landscaping on terraces above the Mustoja River. After extensive restoration following a fire in 1982 and renovations from 2008 to 2012 by Unique Hotels, the manor now operates as a private estate with a hotel and eco-spa. Visitors can explore architectural gems, a vodka museum in the former distillery, and enjoy cultural events including concerts and fine dining. Vihula Manor uniquely blends historical heritage with modern hospitality, offering a serene retreat amidst Estonia's cultural landscape.
