1905

Muottas Muragl's funicular railway, the Muottas-Muragl-Bahn, was constructed between 1905 and 1907 and is the oldest mountain railway in the Engadin region.

Initially, visitors reached the base station on foot, by carriage, or omnibus before the railway existed.

The company operating the funicular was founded in 1904 under the Swiss Eisenbahnbank and later acquired by Celeriner Bergbahnen in 1995.
