The Monastery of Ardenica, officially known as the Monastery of the Nativity of the Theotokos, is an Albanian Orthodox monastery located near Fier, Albania. Founded in 1282 by Byzantine Emperor Andronikos II Palaiologos after a military victory, it stands on a site with ancient pagan roots, possibly linked to the goddess Artemis. The monastery is historically significant as the wedding place of the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg in 1451. Architecturally, it combines Byzantine and Romanesque styles, encompassing the Church of Saint Mary, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity, and auxiliary buildings like a mill and barn. The Church of Saint Mary is renowned for its exquisite 18th-century frescoes by Kostandin and Athanas Zografi, depicting biblical scenes, dogmatic themes, and saints, including a rare portrayal of Saint John Kukuzelis. The monastery also hosted a Greek theological school from 1780 and later became a center for Albanian language education during the National Awakening. Despite suffering damage during communist atheist campaigns, it was preserved due to its cultural importance and has since been partially restored. Today, it remains a vital religious and cultural landmark showcasing Albania's medieval ecclesiastical heritage.

The Monastery of Ardenica was established in 1282 by Byzantine Emperor Andronikos II Palaiologos following his victory over the Angevins.

The site originally hosted a chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity and before that, a pagan temple to Artemis, from which the monastery's name likely derives.
